Eye Care and Bucks County, PA

All About Bucks County, PA

Our Lambertville eye care center is located about a 30 minute drive from the rich heritage and fascinating attractions of Bucks County, PA. As a part of the Delaware Valley, Bucks County is on the southern tip of the eastern state border of Pennsylvania. In addition to being close to many lively urban areas – such as Philadelphia, New York City, and Atlantic City – this district is famous for its lovely scenery, expansive stretches of farmland, and notable colonial history.

Experience history by travelling the covered bridges of Bucks County. Remarkably, ten of the original structures are still open to car traffic. For a different view of the region’s transportation history, take a heritage ride on the New Hope and Ivyland Railroad, a shortline railroad in Pennsylvania. These interesting passenger excursions generally consist of one coach car and one First Class parlor car, along with an open-air car – weather permitting.

Colonial history will truly come alive when you visit Washington Crossing Historic Park, the site of General Washington’s crossing of the Delaware in Bucks County. To brush up on your military history, we recommend spending some time at the Bucks County Civil War Museum. Rare artifacts and a variety of paraphernalia from this exciting period are on display. If art is your passion, check out the nearby James A. Michener Art Museum, where you can stroll the tranquil landscaped gardens and view exhibitions of the unique crafts culture of the region. Once you’ve toured these fabulous sites, we urge you to stop by one more incredible landmark in Bucks County: Mercer Museum and Fonthill Castle! This 1904 building was once the home of designer Henry Mercer and is now home to many one-of-a-kind exhibits.

If you’re in the mood to wander, Bucks County is ideal. Every turn of the winding roads will show you striking views of the nature. We encourage wine aficionados to sip their way through the hundreds of acres long Bucks County Wine Trail. You can stop at many superb vineyards, such as Crossing Vineyards, Buckingham Valley Vineyards, and the New Hope Winery in a rustic 18th century barn. Follow this trail with a journey down the cobblestone alleys of Peddler’s Village, a boutique shopping experience situated in the midst of landscaped gardens.

Families with young kids who are seeking fun and excitement in Bucks County will be tickled pink by a day at Sesame Place! Spend your singing, dancing and story telling with Elmo and his friends. After a busy afternoon here, moms and dads can head to the Bucks County Playhouse for adult entertainment. This theater features many productions of classic and new shows, including Broadway and Hollywood artists.
